Last year: Finished tied for first in the Northwest Conference with an 11-2 mark in conference games. Won one game in the 2A Northwest District Tournament but did not advance to state with an 18-5 record overall.

Outlook: Sehome graduated seven seniors off the team that won the NWC championship last year via tie-breaker, but still has a talented roster. "We have some good players, and I'm optimistic about our chances," LaBree said in a phone interview. "We don't have guys with a ton of minutes, though, so we'll see what happens when we get out there." Linneman is the only returner who started most of the year last year, and he averaged 6.5 points per game. Sanchez and Cyr-Moore also are capable of getting hot from the perimeter, said LaBree, who added that his team may not be all that big but should still play a physical game. "We're going to rely on our defense again this year and getting a lot of stops," LaBree said. "We want people to know when they play us that they're going to be in for a defensive battle. We need to stay focused on that and play good defense for all 32 minutes. We figure we can always play good defense, even when we're not shooting well." Sehome will certainly be in the thick of what figures to be an interesting 2A playoff race.
