PREP BOYS' BASKETBALL: Sehome cruises to 56-42 win over Lynden Christian

John Albert had 14 points and Colin Peterson had 12 points to lead the Sehome boys' basketball team to a 56-42 Northwest Conference victory against Lynden Christian on Thursday, Jan. 27, at Lynden Christian.

Sehome's defense kept the Lyncs in check nearly the entire game as LC shot just more than 28 percent from the field.

"Sehome's athletisism and defensive pressure was just too much for us tonight," LC coach Roger DeBoer said in a phone interview. "The did a fantastic job defensively on us. They did a good job of giving us different looks all night and I was really impressed with the job they did with their ball pressure."

LC (11-6, 4-6 NWC) was led by Joey Spoelstra's nine points, while Isaac Reimer was held to as season-low six points. DeBoer said that statistic was a complete attribute to what the Mariners (14-3, 8-2) were doing defensively.

The Mariners will be hosting Mount Vernon its next game, while Lynden Christian travels to Bellingham at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1.
