PREP BOYS' BASKETBALL: Sehome cruises past Arlington 67-52

Colin Peterson scored 19 points on 8 of 10 shooting, while collecting six rebounds and four assists to lead the Sehome boys' basketball team to a lopsided 67-52 victory over Arlington in a non-conference game on Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Cloud 9 Lynden Invitational.
Sehome jumped out to a 16-6 lead after the first quarter and went on to build itself a 27-point lead at one point in the third quarter.
"I couldn't be more pleased with how we played against a quality opponent like Arlington," Sehome coach AJ LaBree said in a phone interview. "The guys executed and our depth just took over the game for us."
The Mariners beat Arlington 31-19 in rebounds and had eight less turnovers. Sehome's Kevin Virk had 11 points and six rebounds and teammate John Albert had 10 points including six points from the 3-point line.
"We won the battle of the boards and the turnover battle," LaBree said. "You win those and you are going to see the result on the scoreboard like tonight."
Sehome will host Burlington-Edison its next game at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3.
