The Mariners built a large lead through much of the first three quarters before Impero helped his team stage a furious rally. The Nooksack Valley standout finished with 40 points, but it wasn't enough to get past Sehome.

"We put some pressure on them and built up a pretty big lead there and then they started to come back," Sehome coach A.J. LaBree said in a phone interview. "We were playing good defense, Impero was just making good shots. In the fourth quarter we were able to slow things down and we made some clutch free throws."
Nooksack Valley hosts Sultan on Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 7:30 p.m., while Sehome (6-1, 2-0) plays Kingston at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Lynden Christian.
